Anne Burrell

Anne W. Burrell was an actress on television, former chef in the Institute of Culinary Education and formerly teaches cooking. She hosts Secrets of a Restaurant Chef on the Food Network. Anne Burrell, with her trademark spiky blond tresses and her edgy personality on Food Network's Secrets of a Restaurant Cook series, provides an easy and straightforward methods for cooks at home. Chef Burrell is also a veteran of New York City's best restaurants. She also has explored Italy's cuisine and the culture of Italy, and the surrounding geography. Growing up in upstate New York, Chef Burrell discovered a love for cooking and food at an early age. The Culinary Institute of America has sparked her interest in managing restaurants when she received the English and Communications degree from Canisius College Buffalo NY. She states "I was a huge Culinary Institute of America student. I was awed by every moment." Culinary Institute of America was a fantastic location to learn. After graduating, Burrell spent one year learning in the Italian Culinary Institute for Foreigners and worked in Umbria's La Taverna del Lupo as and Tuscany's La Bottega del 30, an Michelin-starred restaurant. While in Italy she came to comprehend and appreciate the philosophies behind Italian cuisine and culture which made a lasting impression in her point of view. Burrell has been a member of the Garden of Dreams Foundation Advisory Board that aims to make a difference in the lives of kids facing problems. Additionally, she is an Juvenile Research Foundation Celebrity Ambassador which promotes the awareness of the condition known as juvenile diabetes. In her capacity as a speaker, Burrell is on the road to share her passion for food and her culinary career. Anne was always grateful that she could share the passion of her life, and her passion for cooking, with people around the world.
